Quality is one of our core value here. From the moment your clothes are dropped off they are checked for stains, wear and tear and any other issues before we even begin our cleaning. Once cleaned they are check again to ensure the stains have been removed and are recleaned if necessary, this then begins the process of press and steaming, after which the items are check again to ensure there are no errors in our pressing, during this time we also check for any repairs or broken buttons that are in need of replacing and we do so accordingly. As we put your order together they are checked once more to ensure nothing has been missed. This process is overlooked by several different people, so the likelihood of something being missed is quite low.
There are some synthetic fibers that react poorly when wet washed and that’s why the care label reads Dry Clean only on some clothes.

There are 2 types of solvents used in dry cleaning, Tetrachloroethylene, and Hydrocarbon. Hydrocarbon is water based and is the most superior technology solvent as of today. It is less aggressive on clothes and as a result of that you can process all types of garments at the same time removing almost all kinds of stains
Care labels are the most important element that is taken into consideration while wet cleaning and dry cleaning your clothes. Dry cleaning is an advanced process of cleaning garments. A special solvent is used (hydrocarbon) which is water-based and eco-friendly. There are a few more steps involved in dry cleaning than there are in wet cleaning and hence it can be a complex process which works better. Clothes that have synthetics like viscose, lyocell, modal and cupro react poorly with water and hence need dry cleaning.
When should I choose dry cleaning over wet cleaning for some clothes/ or specific kind of materials?
Majority of the time the label on your garments will specify if the item is to be dry cleaned or wet cleaned. This has to do with the material and the integrity of the fabric fibers. Dry cleaning solvent contains little to no water, and does not penetrate fabric fibers in a way that water does, this is most useful for delicate fabrics that water will actually damage, such as non-blended silk. Wet cleaning, on the other hand, is good for materials that are prone to shrinkage, color loss and fabric distortion, as wet cleaning allows the control of detergents, water level, temperature and rotation speed; factors that if not careful, can cause these damages.
Color fading/color loss is unfortunately very common in cleaning clothes, but it is, however, not directly related to dry cleaning solvents. Color loss can occur for several different reasons. Household cleaning products and bleach will disturb dye, as well as products that contain alcohol- like perfumes, hairspray, and other moisture solutions. Dyes like Fugitive dyes are not colorfast to dry cleaning solvents or water, in these cases this is a manufacturer error as the dyes will dissolve in the solvent despite the care label instructions for cleaning. When it comes down to it, Color loss depends on the concentration of the staining substance, the sensitivity of the dye, and the length of time the staining substance remains on the fabric but is unrelated to the dry cleaning solvent itself.
Research has shown that dry cleaning does not have any negative effects on fabric fibers, in fact, frequent cleaning actually prolongs the life of your clothes. The ground in dirt and oils can set with age, these stains act abrasively, almost like sandpaper, and will wear down the fibers in the fabric.
For the purpose of removing grease (that comes from perspiration and body oils) we recommend you dry clean dirty shirts at least once a month. Wet cleaning them for the rest of the month is a good way to take care of them.
Different shirts have different life expectancies. Cotton is one of the most long-lasting materials. Some expectancy factors also depend on how often do you use the shirt, and how often do you clean and press it.
How are the shirts cleaned and pressed? Does this cause any damage or reduce the life expectancy of my shirts?
We have two processes for cleaning shirts- dry and wet cleaning. Wet for the normal dirty shirts and dry for really greasy and dirty shirts. For the dry cleaned shirts, we hand press them and hence there is an extra charge and for the wet cleaning shirts, we have machines that press the shirt in 3 stages starting from hands, sleeve cuffs and collars and then the body. We steam the shirts, we do no iron it until there is a need to touch up after the steaming. It does not in any way damage or reduce the life expectancy of the shirts.
Button repair is one of the complimentary services we offer with your cleaning, often buttons do come up broken or cracked, this can be from a number of reasons; loose buttons can fall off while in the process of cleaning, buttons can become cracked or broken because of the high amount of heat from being steamed and pressed. Yes, it does happen, but replacing them is apart of our process to ensure your clothes come back to you in the best quality possible at no charge to you.
